Oasis has been a proud partner of the annual Make Happy Tummies (formerly Toonies for Tummies) campaign for several years now. In partnership with the Grocery Foundation, this program supports the physical and emotional well-being of millions of Canadian school-age children.
As a Canadian brand, we take pride in supporting local initiatives in our communities. This partnership is fueling unlimited possibilities by putting breakfast back at the forefront, allowing children start the day with a full tummy.
Happy to offer equal chance to succeed across Canada
We all know the importance of breakfast, but it’s even more critical when it comes to any child’s growth. Children need fuel to move around, stay focused, study, and more. However, some kids aren’t fortunate enough to get that daily dose of energy because many of them don’t have access to a healthy breakfast.
Did you know that 1 in 3 children is at risk of going to school on an empty stomach?[1] Eating breakfast has beneficial effects on many aspects of children development, as such as:
- Mental and cognitive abilities, including the concentration needed to sustain learning and take more initiative
- Social skills building abilities
- Behaviour in classroom
Providing children across Canada access to a nutritious breakfast at school helps them reach their full potential. It’s easier to learn on a full stomach, which means better academic results.
A national campaign to nourish hunger in 2026
The national campaign is made possible through fundraising efforts of Canadian grocery retailers including Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo, Longo’s, Thrifty Foods, IGA West, Foodland and participating Atlantic Co-ops (via Empire Company Limited), Buy-Low Foods, Calgary Co-op, Freson Bros., Food Basics, Metro, Nester’s Market, Save-On-Foods, many independent retailers and now Metro and Super C (Quebec).
The 2026 campaign will start in more than 1,475 stores in Western Canada, Ontario and Atlantic Canada (from January 2026 – April 2026) and in +300 stores in Quebec (from January 30, 2026 – February 12, 2026).
Fueling tummies in your neighborhood
In Western Canada, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, you can participate by donating at participating retailers. 100% of all shopper donation makes its way to a breakfast program and hungry child locally. For the program launched in Quebec, Oasis, in collaboration with the other brands supporting the Make Happy Tummies campaign and participating retailers, are together donating $100,000 to Breakfast Club of Canada. Together, we can help over 1M+ children nationally with access to student nutrition programs. We’re grateful to be part of an initiative that has a significant impact on Canadians, and it’s all made possible thanks to you.
Since its creation in 1979, the Grocery Foundation has transformed the lives of millions of children. Through various fundraising platforms, alongside brand partnership (including Oasis) and Canadians, tens of millions of dollars have been donated to children-focused charities.[2]
